Alyanna Espero
My name is Alyanna π
I grew up in Oregon, and I now live in Nevada. I’m a sophmore in college and am majoring in Cardiorespiratory sciences! My dream is to become a medical missionary and serve God wherever He calls me. He has placed the biggest compassion & love for the poor in my heart. I have been praying for God to give me an opportunity to serve Him- especially overseas. So this trip is a huge blessing!
A little about me:
I love studying new languages although I cannot speak my native tongue (Tagalog). I took a semester of Japanese last year which was a lot of hard work and a lot of fun, but completely worth it.
My dad is a talented cook & takes care of me…lol..if you know what I mean π
I love meeting new people!
I am very friendly & outgoing.
I work at American Eagle.
I wish I was more of a reader however I love Ephesians & James..
There is nothing like a nice hot cup of tea, my absolute favourite hot drink.
My best friend is an M.K. from Papua New Guinea!
I enjoy a healthy dose of guitar playing here and there..
Everything is better acustic, in my opinion. I like particularly like Shawn McDonald’s Live in Seattle!
Some of my favourite music: Iron & Wine, Death cab for cutie, Chris Tomlin, Feist
I am so taken away by our Creator God- I am fascinated with nature. Everything, every aspect of it. (After I moved from OR to NV two years ago, I realised how much I took GREEN for granted.)
I love baking!
I love good movies with a strong message: Hotel Rwanda, Blood diamond, (then the fun movies) cool runnings, Milo & Otis (aww)
I have that weird asian/filipino sense of humour sometimes. lol.
If I could naturally be amazing at any sport, I would would love to surf.
I love the ocean, roses, people, fruits, traveling, learning, loving, growing, and God reveals Himself to me in all these things! I can’t wait to meet all of you on my team, and even though I don’t know everyone yet- That’s the beauty of it…its a complete mystery, yet God will bring us together with the shared purpose of sharing His love in India!
Take comfort knowing that you are consistantly in my prayers. I pray God is strengthening you and preparing your heart for the amazing trip ahead of us!
Alyanna! Milo and Otis, Death Cab, Iron & Wine, we should be friends! I’m so excited that you’re going to India and I can’t wait to see how God works in your life. I’m praying for you sister! You’re going to India!

P.S. Teach me some languages. Excellent.
Alyanna,
HI π I’m excited that you like Iron and Wine; I’m getting into their stuff, as well. You’ll have to introduce me to some other music that you like, because I also enjoy acoustic guitar! Anyways, just thought I’d drop you a line. Hope you’re having a wonderful week.
Your teammate!

P.S.
Let’s go surfing!… I’ve never been, but it sounds exciting.
Alyanna,
We are going to have such an amazing time in India. I just finished reading Kelsey’s blog and I really think we all have a lot in common already. You two girls seem so amazing, and I think we are going to hit it off. It’s funny how all three of us are from such different places, but enjoy similar things. For example, acoustic guitar, death cab for cutie, and feist. However, I’ll have to look up Iron and Wine. Haha I’ve never heard of them.
Ok, like I told Kelsey, look me up on facebook!!!

Oh chica, you and I have pretty much the same dream! I am dying to do medical missions…and cardio is my favorite to observe, surgery that is. π
I can’t wait to meet ya and am praying for you!
Hey Alyanna I am so excited to meet ya. At first I was going to school to be a nurse but then I change my major to teaching. I am very outgoing and friendly too! See ya soon. I will be praying for you!
James is one of my favorite books too! And a good friend of mine is Filipino, but he moved to Cali a few months back π it’ll be good to have another Filipino friend, haha. It’s been fun getting to know you better on facebook, but I can’t wait to get to know you in person. I hope you’re having a great day!
mm we have some people with excellent music taste.
yay for being Filipino, one of my best friends at college is Filipino. Its odd it seems like a lot of the second generation doesn’t know the native language. Have you been to the Philippines?
I’m so glad to hear about what God has placed on your heart, its really encouraging to hear from people with the same passion.
Hi Alyanna,
I loved Hotel Rwanda too…We have a few things in common:)…How many languages do you speak?
Well tagalog is my home language of which I can’t speak π
