As you can tell already, I am Jordan Davis. I am from the beautiful and historical town of Williamsburg, Virginia. I am a college student trying to achieve a degree that will serve as a catalyst for the calling God has on my life. I spent my freshman year at Liberty University where I gained more knowledge of the Bible, and how to be a spiritual leader. Also, due to living in a dorm full of girls, I was able to learn a lot about getting along with others, and being there for people twenty-four/seven. Liberty was an amazing experience; however, God has other plans for me. I am now spending two semesters at community college so I can transfer into the College of William and Mary. I am majoring in Literary and Cultural Studies, and I plan on using my degree as a journalist and/or working for a non-profit international organizations.
God has blessed me with a supportive and exciting family. I have two older sisters, and they are both married to amazing guys. My parents have been faithfully married for twenty-eight years and their love has set an excellent example of marriage and parenting. I have an adorable niece and nephew that unfortunately live twelve hours away with my sisters and their families. My family is very close, and I can truly say I do not know where I would be without them.
Ok, about me:
I am a very interesting person. Most of the time I am a very bubbly and extroverted individual, but I have moments during the week, or day when I am very melancholy and introverted. I am extremely analytical, and therefore I am constantly asking questions inside my head. I am a book nerd, and in my spare time I am either reading, or writing. I love music, and adore attempting to make music; I play the piano and sing (I’m not very good). Anything outside is always better than being inside, in my opinion. I love fishing, hiking, tanning at the beach, boating, water skiing etc. I am a big movie buff, watching movies is definitely my vice, along with chocolate. I have grown up my entire life in the dull suburbs; therefore, I have an overwhelming desire for adventure and seeing new places. God gave me an extraordinary and monumental opportunity two years ago to go on a mission trip to Zimbabwe, Africa, for two weeks. It was by far the most amazing time of my life. I was able to reach invalid children, orphans, and feed homeless villagers. However, even though I was attempting to be the one to bless others, I was blessed even more in return. The people and children I met in Zimbabwe obtained a mass amount of love for Jesus Christ. Their love and excitement for God were contagious. Upon leaving Zimbabwe God laid on my heart the desire to travel to other countries and minister to those who are in need of him. After my trip to Zimbabwe I have been praying and praying for another opportunity to go serve God’s people overseas. God has closed the doors on a few opportunities until now.
I am so excited to meet all of you who are going to be on this team. I love working with others, especially when we are working to further God’s kingdom or bless those who are already in it. I love studying new cultures and this trip to India has finally given me a valid excuse to enmesh myself in the study of a different culture other than my own.
This adventure to India will be most thrilling, challenging, and purposeful. I am truly ecstatic.
“We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures that we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.”- Prime Minister of India, Jawaharla Nehru
God Bless!
