Kenny Liles
Hey guys- I am Kenny and here’s a little about me:
That’s me feeding a giraffe from my mouth in Kenya… Not sure why I did it except that everyone else was… don’t hate.
I just got home from Kenya yesterday. I was there for three months on a RealLife trip and it was such a great experience. God was able to use all types of situations and people to teach me some pretty life-changing stuff. I’m sure whenever we all meet I’ll probably still be talking about the Kenya trip, so I’ll try not to bore that with you here… I’ll just bore you with it later.
Anyway, I’m 23, half introvert-half extrovert, from Arkansas but living in San Diego, and I’m in hard pursuit of God. I graduated from the University of Arkansas 2 years ago now, and during my senior year I sensed God calling me to pursue ministry. So I got involved in the youth ministry at my church and then a few months later moved to San Diego to be a Youth Pastor for a year. After the year at that church, I began to help with a church plant in downtown San Diego and I worked at a Medical Lab for a little while. Somewhere during that, I felt called to go get my hands dirty with the Great Commission… so that’s how Kenya happened. It was a huge move because I ended up having to quit my job on the same day that I was being offered a promotion. But it was ENTIRELY worth it and while on the Kenya trip, I began to feel a pull towards the India trip.
So, that’s a little about me and my story of late. Some other things just so you’ll know: I love music and love to play drums and guitar and sing and write songs and all that mess. Also, I like writing and reading and I’ve lately really been enjoying sunrises… And long walks on the beach and the fragrace after the rain (Ok, I hope you can sense the sarcasm on those last few.)
In summation, I am ridiculously excited to meet you guys and I will totally be praying over the next month for you and for our trip and for my pet rabbit who has a bad shoulder.
Grace and Peace
(and I actually don’t have a pet rabbit)
oh but i really do enjoy the fragrance after the rain!
i’m very encouraged by your pursuit of the Lord.
It does smell good. I grew up singing a song about it in church.
Kenny you sound fantastic, the picture alone sold me. good ol giraffe feeding.
I’m excited to have you on the the trip, and the fact our lone guy now has someone to commiserate with being a gender minority.

Not gonna lie, the giraffe kiss thing…kinda grossing me out. Haha. I can’t wait to meet you! 🙂
