Hey guys! My name is Bethany Mustin.
I’m twenty years old and I grew up in Winston-Salem,
NC, but I’m a junior English major at North Greenville
University (it’s close to
Furman). I still don’t know what I’m going to do when I graduate, but I love
the world and seeing it and communing with the people on it, and I’m excited to
see where the Lord sends me.
I cannot wait for India.
A few random things about me:
my favorite poet is Rumi and my favorite author is
(probably) Jane Austen.
I love any genre of music as long as it’s good; Sigur Ros,
Pink Floyd, the Avett Brothers, Misty Edwards, A Plea for Purging, I think
they’re all wonderful.
My favorite foods are sushi and really dark chocolate.
I drink coffee religiously and occasionally tea, if I feel
like being more sophisticated.
I have the best friends in the world, but sometimes I forget
that and take them for granted.
I practice yoga on a regular basis and I’ll probably be
tucking a mat in my suitcase for this trip.
I love homeless people and the inner city.
I struggle to love the American church sometimes.
My roommate and I have raised a family together: our funky
sasa veitchii bamboo named Lumiere who lives in an ancient pickle crock, our
sago palm Isis who’s prickly but lovely, our
fish Lord Cornwallis who has nightly seizures, and we’re trying to grow spruce
trees in our windowsill.
Isaiah is fast becoming my favorite book of the Old
Testament, but I think Exodus 33 is my favorite passage.
I really do not like shoes, sports, or walnuts.
And I am so thrilled to be going with all of you to India!
