I’m Angela
Williams. I’m 19 and a first year at the University of Virginia. I’m
undeclared, but I definitely have a vision for the future. I just don’t know
how to connect it with the present.
In some sort of
capacity I would like to dedicate my life to the ending of human trafficking
and the sex trade. That could take route in becoming a lawyer to attack the
corruption and convict the pimps and brothel owners. I could work in after-care
for the women and children to be rehabilitated, work through traumas
experienced, and helping the victims heal and proceed to a better life. I could
be an educator in English so that the women and children could have a skill for
a job so they wouldn’t have to revert back to the industry or another sort of
craft skill. I could even be in the
marketplace just funding those who are being sent to do those things. God
hasn’t drawn me to a specific field, but I know He’ll take me there when He
wants to.
My parents are
both believers and I have two older brothers. I started my relationship with
God at 5.
I’m half Mexican
[from my mom] and other half is Caucasian. I’ve been traveling since I was a
baby to and from Mexico visiting family and spending vacations there. As a result I love heritage and I love
culture.
It’s hard for me
to describe myself because I feel like I’m a walking contradiction. Aka I’m shy
but bold, introverted but extroverted, quiet but loud, though I must say I’m a
bit more on the loud side. Generally
though, I would sum myself up as a passionate person.
I love to
worship. I can’t sing, play instruments, dance gracefully, or anything like
that. But I feel like when I’m
worshipping I am doing what I was created to do. Along with that I have a heart for prayer,
especially for my generation to grab a hold of the intimacy and power that
comes with it. Though I say both of
those interests cautiously, I am by no means an expert; an avid learner is more
to my liking.
I also have the
beginnings of a heart for the broken, which encompasses the disenfranchised,
poor, oppressed, abandoned, outcasts,
and lonely. This stems from my own
struggle and deliverance with some of these areas.
I enjoy reading
and writing. The writing is generally just stream of consciousness more than
prose or poetry. Other interests: just being on the internet, going to shows, gallivanting
on adventures with friends, good hugs, play grounds… especially swing sets , and enjoying
fellowship and community of the body. As
a rule: good people + good food= good time.
the bios do full justice to the individuals, so I’m excited to meet all of you
and live for two whole months in India with y’all. I feel so connected just by
reading the bios where I’m finding all these common interests.
I love swing sets, playgrounds are my hide aways(Sh!), and hugs is a skill I’ve mastered! I pretty much just loving you girl! Awesome! 🙂
such a cute picture, angela!
